Stop. Think. Do #4

As I am travelling at the moment, this time for a "Stop. Think. Do" post I choose inspiring quotes about travel. Read, consider, go travel.

The world is a book and he who doesn’t travel only reads one page.  St. Augustine

We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more. Pico Iyer

...make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.

What's in my little carry on bag?

Hey there!
I am going to UK to visit family and a friend. I will be there almost 2 weeks. With my carry-on luggage I will also have this little bag with some flight essentials. In it I have:
  • a book to read while waiting at the airport and on the flight;
  • wallet (and a passport in it - a must, of course);
  • boarding ticket;
  • mp3 player;
  • earphones;
  • lip balm (my lips get really dry on the airplane);
  • chocolate (not necessary but just in case I get hungry or just want something sweet);
  • phone.

There will be more travel related posts.
Have a great day! :)

#TakeBackWhatsYours

A couple of days ago I have discovered a beautiful campaign that is going around. I found it by reading an amazing post on lovely Adele's blog that you can read here. It touched my heart and I decided to participate as well.
Campaign was started by Chloe from Chloe's Concept. The aim of this campain is to take back something that belong to you but you've lost or been taken away. And it's not about physical things but about your "inner things" like confidence, motivation, happiness etc. All the info about the project can be found on website, Chloe's blog and Twitter.

I remember 3-4 years ago, on my first year of uni I felt happy, in general. Of course I had my ups and downs but basically I wasn't complaining. And I remember then I was really positive. Positive about life, future, everything. I always had hope and thought that everything will be alright. I believed that I can achieve my goals and make my dreams come true. I was going through my life path positively. But after some time my mind began to change. I started to realize that everything goes wrong, I face failure and have no luck. Step by step my positivity was fading down. Only hope held me. But in the end of December 2014 when I was revising the gone year i understood one thing - I lost hope. I understood that I don't believe in a better tomorrow anymore. I see my life as a failure. And with all that unluck I don't believe in myself anymore. But this year I want to change it! I want to hope for good, stay positive and because of that - feel happy, again. That is why I want to

take back my positivity and self-belief.

I think that it is a beautiful campaign that Chloe begun. Everyone who wants to make changes to their life should try and take part of it or just share some support. Make sure to check campaign's website and Twitter for more info and other posts.

I would like to tag every person that a better tomorrow and misses something that belongs to you. If you decide to take part in it, make sure to leave the link to your post in the comments below and/or tag me (@minty_way) on twitter. Of course, don't forget to tag Chloe as well (@ChloesConcept).

Empties - Garnier Edition

Hey there!
Strange thing, I always finish a couple of products at the same time and for some reason this time they are all Garnier products. Here is my opinion on them.

Garnier Body Tonic Scrub

Sugar scrub with natural fruit extract. It claims to exfoliate, nourish and smooth the skin. And it really does. I think it is a great scrub, suitable for dry skin. Leaves the skin smooth with a fruity scent.

Pros:
  • great exfoliation
  • smoothes the skin
  • pleasant fruity scent that stays on the skin
  • calms down Keratosis Pilaris

Cons:
  • none

 Rating: 5/5
Repurchase: Yes

Garnier Fructis Nutri Repair Spray

Detangles, nourishes, repairs damaged hair. Not sure how I feel about this product. It's not bad but not amazing either. I would say it is ok. It does a great job with tangled hair but I didn't see any nourishing or repairing effect. It's so-so.

Pros:
  • detangles, even my frizzy, thick hair
  • pleasant scent
  • doesn't leave hair heavy or oily

Cons:
  • doesn't nourish or repair dry hair as the product claims to do

Rating: 3/5
Repurchase: Maybe.

Garnier BB cream

My first bb cream. I had higher expectations for it. The product is good but I thought it would be better. I expected more coverage. And the shade selection is poor: only two shades. I picked up the light one but it is still a bit dark for my pale skin. The cream is great for the summer.

Pros:
  • moisturizes dry skin very well
  • light coverage (although I would prefer a bit more)
  • light texture

Cons:
  •  only two shades; the light one is too dark for pale skin

Rating: 3.5/5
Repurchase: maybe but only for the summer time.

Sick day activities

For the past few days I've been sick. That means staying home, in bed, drinking a lot of tea and not feeling well. And thinking how to entertain yourself. Here are some suggestions:

1. Read books. Unless you don't like to read or don't feel to. Maybe you have a book on your shelf that is there for a long time without being read. Or you've been too busy and didn't had time to read, now is a great opportunity.

2. Watch movies, tv-series. Now is the perfect time to watch everything you want without any guilt. For me it is a great moment to watch long, 3 hour movies, because on an average day it is difficult to find that time.

3. Write a diary. About your past days before you've got sick, your feeling, general thoughts, dreams, short stories etc. Whatever you want really.

4. Read blogs.  Explore blog world. Surf Bloglovin, read posts that interests you. Some interesting blogs can be found.

5. Do some crafts. Something easy that doesn't make you tired. Search for easy diy projects.

6. Play games on your phone. Download a new one, maybe it will be addicting and make you play for hours just to pass the level.

7. Sleep. If you don't feel to do anything then just sleep. After naps you will definitely feel better and time will go faster.

What do you do on a sick day?

By the way, I've changed the appearance of my blog a bit. What do you think? I would love to know your opinion and suggestions :)

Favorite movies

Today I thought I would share my favorite movies.
They are not in any particular order.

The Pursuit of Happyness
I would be said to choose only one favorite movie, it would be this one. If I need motivation, this film always helps me. And makes me cry, everytime.
Favorite film quote:  You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.

About time
Reminds that we should enjoy every second of life and live if it was the last day.
Favorite film quote: And in the end I think I've learned the final lesson from my travels in time; and I've even gone one step further than my father did: The truth is I now don't travel back at all, not even for the day, I just try to live every day as if I've deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life.

Predestination
It is the best mind-blowing movie I have ever seen. My mind can't handle the whole situation.. But maybe that's why I like it.

Into the wild
Shows another perspective of life. Taught me that no matter what society thinks, you should choose what makes you happy.
Favorite film quotes: When you want something in life, you just gotta reach out and grab it.
Happiness only real when shared.
I read somewhere how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong... but to feel strong.

Harry Potter series
All 8 movies. All that magic helps to forget the reality for a bit.

Bioderma Sensibio AR cream review

About 2 months ago I've run out of face cream and went to a pharmacy to search for something new. I need to point out that I have dry, sensitive skin with redness on my cheeks.
Redness is my biggest problem, I always struggle to cover it up, especially in winter. I've seen doctors but no one told me what the problem is - when I was younger they said that it will disappear after puberty, other told me I'm allergic to carrots and oranges and red cheeks is an allergic reaction, which is complete nonsense. So no one helped me. Recently, after a lot of research on internet I've realized that I probably have Keratosis Pilaris (KP) on my face and body. There is no cure but it can be controllable. I will write a post about KP in the future.
So I've heard a lot of good things about Bioderma skincare products and decided to try it out this time. I saw this anti-redness cream for sensitive skin prone to rosacea. Pharmacist suggested me to try it out. Also, she offered to try the Bioderma's micellar water. I've wanted to try it out for so long so I've picked it too. I have a review on it here.

There is 40ml of the cream, while usually face creams has only 30ml. Cream itself is slightly yellowish, has a very soft, almost unnoticeable smell.
After using this cream for about 3 months now I can share my impression. Sadly to say - I'm disappointed. It doesn't work for my skin. Whilst using it these 3 months I haven't noticed any difference on my skin: redness is the same, no special moisturizing. I see no difference between when I have and haven't used it. But it didn't have negative impact, my skin isn't worse.
Well I regret spending so much money on it (because it isn't cheap) but I'm glad I've tried it. Sometimes good reviews doesn't mean that everyone will be satisfied with the product. Sometimes it's just marketing talks around famous brands. I don't want to argue, maybe there is a lot of people that liked Sensibio Ar but not me.

Summing up:
rating - 2/5;
will I buy it again - no.

Soon I will need a new cream. Maybe you have an antiredness, rosacea, keratosis pilaris cream to recommend?
