Blogmas Day 7 / Makeup must-haves

Today I thought I will share my makeup must-haves. I wear makeup almost everyday (unless I stay at home then I don't do my makeup). I am feeling uncomfortable going outside without makeup and it seems to me that people are looking and pointing out my imperfections. Probably like all girls I feel more confident with makeup.
I decided to share my main makeup items. If someone told me to choose only 3 products to use, I would choose:

1. Foundation or a BB cream in summer. I have red cheeks (keratosis pilaris) and I need to cover them up so a foundation is my number one must-have. I feel very uncomfortable when my people see my red cheeks. It is a bit different situation in the summer when my face is tanned. Then my cheeks aren't that bad so I don't use anything and feel fine with it. But in other seasons I don't leave the house without some coverage - foundation, BB cream or a powder (especially in winter).
At the moment I use Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation.

2. Mascara. I like to put an accent on my eyes so my second must-have is mascara.
At the moment I'm using Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara Cat Eyes

3. Lip balm. Lips don't look good when dry. Some lip balm have shimmer or tint in it which makes lips to look even better.
At the moment I am using Nivea Vitamin Shake Acai and Wild Apple

and Carmex Cherry Flavored Lip Balm

Blogmas Day 5 / 88 Natural Colors Eyeshadow Palette Review

6 months ago I decided to try a popular eyeshadow palette from Ebay - 88 natural/warm colors eyeshadow palette.

At first I didn't know whether I should buy it, I was afraid that it will be low quality, eyeshadow not pigmented, won't last long. Those fears mainly was caused by the price. Lets be honest, 7-8 pounds for 88 eyeshadow is a silly price and usually we need to pay for a good quality. But after reading reviews I decided to buy it.

I've chosen the natural/warm colors. After using it for 6 months for everyday and special occasions makeup, I can say that I like it a lot!
The quality is amazing. Palette comes with a mirror and 2 applicators. Of course, applicators are useless but the mirror is really handy. Here are some pros and cons based on my opinion:

PROS:
  • colors are really pigmented (almost all)
  • eyeshadows lasts all day, even night; I've used it not only on everyday makeup, but also on special occasions when I had my makeup from early morning till late night (even the next morning) and it lasted a really long time
  • palette hasn't got any bad, chemical smell (even though it is so cheap)
  • price
  • mirror included
  • good packaging for such a price
CONS:
  • some colors repeat or are very similar
  •  some light colors aren't pigmented enough

All in all, I think this palette is amazing. Someone even told once that these palettes are the same as the Mac or Coastal Scents ones, the only difference - a brand name on the packaging. And I agree to this opinion, even though I haven't tried the high-end palettes.
I would recommend everyone to try it out. And it is super cheap so even if you will be disappointed (although I think you won't be), you will not spend a lot of money on it.

PS I don't remember from which Ebay seller I bought this but there are a lot of them. Just type in the search bar "88 eyeshadow palette" and choose one that has good feedback.

Blogmas Day 4 / Stop. Think. Do #1

“Sadness gives depth. Happiness gives height. Sadness gives roots. Happiness gives branches. Happiness is like a tree going into the sky, and sadness is like the roots going down into the womb of the earth. Both are needed, and the higher a tree goes, the deeper it goes, simultaneously. The bigger the tree, the bigger will be its roots. In fact, it is always in proportion. That's its balance.”

Blogmas Day 1/ November favourites

So I've decided to try and blog everyday till Christmas. Don't know if this will work out but I want to try. Now I just need to come up with some ideas on blog posts that I want to write because I don't have a lot for now.

Although it is the first day of December I want to share some things that I loved in November.

1. Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara Cat Eyes

This mascara is one of my favorite makeup items in the month of November. It makes my lashes fuller and longer. Brush is a bit unusual for me but it works great - outer corner lashes are longer and it makes a cat eyes effect. I really like that the brush is in the shape of the lash line what makes it easy to apply. Other pros: mascara lasts all day, doesn't smudge, even it's not a waterproof mascara I can assure that it's not afraid of water.

Side note: this is my second mascara from Maybelline series and I loved both. Maybelline mascaras are my must haves, I can't compare them to other mascaras.

2. Nivea Vitamin Shake Acai and Wild Apple Lip Balm

I like Nivea lip balms. I think they are one of the best. Now I am using Acai and Wild apple one. It moisturizes good, isn't sticky and  the smell is really nice.  Packaging says that it has a bit of tint but I haven't noticed it on my lips, although I can see it on the skin on the hand. But it isn't necessary for me so I like it anyway.

3. Green tea with jasmine

In the past month I drank a lot of green tea with jasmine. I had this tea for a while now but I didn't like it at first. But in the end of October when it got colder and I started drinking more tea I tried it again and I liked it! Jasmine makes it gentle. I also found this tea really calming.

4. One Direction

I changed my mind about this band in November. Not that I didn't like them. I was neutral to their music. But in the past month I started listening more songs and enjoyed them. I'm not saying that I became a fan or something but I think the boys have some great songs. My favorite ones: You and I, Story of my Life, Little things, Stockholm Syndrome.

5. Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud

Talking about music - my favorite song of the month is Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran. I've listened to it all the time.

6. "What If"

Favorite movie I watched in November is "What if" (director Michael Dowse). It is a romantic comedy/drama. I liked the humor, plot, characters. It was a light and enjoyable watch.

7. Weather

I really liked the weather in November. In the beginning it was a real autumn and autumn is my favorite season. It wasn't too cold, only chilly, but I liked that. I also liked the fact it wasn't raining a lot. Of course, what an autumn without rain but I prefer "dry" autumn. Other reason why weather is in my November favorites is because it started snowing in the end of the month. First snow this winter! It makes me so excited because it means that Christmas is soon.
