Sunday 2 April 2017
Hey, April
Today is a beautiful, sunny, warm day. The spring came at last. Hopefully spring will stay and it will be even warmer.
So, it is April already. Time passed really fast. It seems that New Year's Eve was not so long ago, and now look, from that night 3 months has passed. It is crazy.
Here are the things that I am looking forward to this month:
Spring weather. I want sunny warm days. I want longer evenings when the sun sets later, when it is still light outside at 8pm. Spring means I can go on evening walks, wear spring clothes, eat ice cream sometimes. I want some ice cream already.
Ghost in the shell. The movie will premiere in a couple of days. I saw the anime on which this movie was based on. It was interesting and now I am curious to see the movie.
Warsaw. In April I will be going to Warsaw for a couple of days. I am excited for that. Last time I've been there 5 years ago, but still I want to go, because I haven't seen all the places. First place on my to visit list is The Copernicus Science Centre. I wanted to go there and this time I definitely will.
Easter. My favorite holiday is Christmas, but other ones are also fun. My favorite thing about holidays is that all family are meeting up, spending some time together.
Friends. I will see my friend this month that I haven't seen probably 2 months ago. She is studying in other city, so we don't meet that often. Looking forward for chit chats with a cup of coffee. It is always nice to meet and talk.
Let it be sun everyday.

Why I don't buy books
One of my hobbies is reading. I am reading in my free time, in the public transport when going to work, in bed before going to sleep. In the beginning of 2017 I started this night routine, when I read a book just before sleep for about 30 minutes. It helps to calm down and sleep better.
I read physical books as well as ebooks. But I don't buy books, I always borrow them from the library. These are the reasons why:
1. I don't reread books. The only book I read a couple of times is The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Why to read the same book, even if it was good, when you can read new stories and discover more interesting books. For that reason I don't need to own books, because after reading them, they will only be a pretty interior decoration on the shelf.
2. Saving money. Lets be honest - books are expensive. For exemple, if I read about 3 books per month, one new book costs, lets say, 15-20 euro, so I would spend about 60 euro each month. I would spend that much money to read a book one time and just put it on the shelf. And it is not guaranteed that I will even like that book! Maybe it will end up a disapointment for that much money. Don't get me wrong, I am not a materialist, but I think that you can spend that money on better purpose. Libraries gives the opportunity to read books for free, so why not to use it.
3. Selection. The selection of books in the library is huge! You can find so much books. When going there, I usually don't have a list of books that I want to borrow. I just wonder around, browse through the new arrivals. In my library sometimes you can find new books that are on tops in the bookshop at the moment. It is a chance to read even new books without buying them.
Also, sometimes in libraries you can find those books, which you can't find in bookshops anymore. For exemple, there are more classics in libraries than in shops.
4. Clutter. Books take space. More new books will take even more space. I agree, that having a shelf full of books is great and looks nice. But big amount of books can make clutter. I personaly prefer more of minimalistic look and design, so I don't like to have room full of stuff. Of course the amount of books depends on how many books you buy and how much you read. The more you read, more cluttered you are with books.
That is why choose not to buy books. What are your opinion? Please leave your thoughts in the comments below, I will be happy to read them :)

October favorites
It's November 1st. October is over, so it is time to share what I've been loving this month.
New plant. In the middle of October I've bought myself this lovely plant. It is a crassula plant. It makes my room look cozier and me feel happier.
Duolingo. I've been using this app before when I wanted to learn Italian. This month I started using it again. So far I've been practicing consistently and even beat 30 day streak. Duolingo is simple to use and doesn't require a lot of time. There are many languages you can learn with it online.
Suits. Autumn is the perfect time to watch tv series, under a blanket, with a cup of tea. I watched season 5 and 6 of Suits in October and I enjoyed it.
Essence lipstick, 06 Barely there. A beautiful color, perfect for autumn.
Indie music. It is one of my favorite types of music, but for some reasons I haven't been listening to it for a while. In October I discovered it again.
Those are my favorites of the month of October. What was yours?

What's in my bag?
When I first started watching Youtube, these type of videos were my favorite to watch. When I discovered the blogging world, posts with this title always caught my attention. Lets be honest, we girls love to see what other women are carrying in their bags. And it is a mystery for me why, but oh well, probably some women psychological thing.
In my last year of school and in uni I used to carry bigger bags that would fit my books and notebooks. Now, when I am not a student anymore, I prefer smaller bags. Although on the picture it looks big, I assure you it is not. I would call it a medium size. It is a new bag that I got last week. I needed a new bag, but I couldn't find one that I like. It was a spontaneous decision. I was feeling down that day, I went to the store to warm up after a walk, saw it and bought it, simple as that. And let me tell you, not only it made me feel better that day, I don't regret buying it, because I really like it. So, what is in my bag?
- wallet
- keys
- Kindle
- earphones
- tissues
- pen
- painkillers
- comb
- lip butter from The Body Shop in Mango
- Lipstick from Essence in the color 07 Natural Beauty
- ladies box
- phone
That is it. Not much, but enough.

Reading challenge 2016 - Update
This year I am taking part in the Goodreads Reading challenge 2016. I was participating last year as well. In 2015 my goal was to read 24 books and I've completed the challenge by reading 26 books. I was happy and proud of myself that I've managed to achieve my goal. Also, it was fun so I decided to take part in this year's challenge.
This year my goal is a bit lower - I want to read 20 books in 2016. So far, so good - I've read 17 books and as the Goodreads claims, it is 2 books ahead of schedule. Here are those books (in the order I have read them):
H.Amin "Reunited in the Desert"
J.Picoult "The Pact" *
L.F.Baum "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz"
H.Hesse "The Journey to the East"
N.Gaiman "American Gods"
J.P.Sartre "Nausea"
A.Munthe "The Story of San Michele" *
D.Chamberlain "The Good Father"
C.M.Dominguez "The House of Paper"
L.Kepler "The Hypnotist"
J.Austen "Sense and Sensibility"
H.Murakami "A Wild Sheep Chase"
J.Fowles "The Collector" *
B.Sher "Wishcraft: How to Get What You Really Want"
D.Keyes "Flowers for Algernon" *
S.Maitland "A Book of Silence" *
J.Gray "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus"
Books marked with a star I liked the most. Most of them I've read on Kindle, because it is easier to take it with me to work. Usually I read on my way to/from work and when I have some free time there. Sometimes I read at home and then I prefer paper books.
Only 3 books left until my goal and more than 2 months to reach it, so I am sure I can complete the challenge. Wish me luck :)
